New York's highest court of appeals has held that no-fault insurers cannot deny no-fault benefits where they unilaterally determine that a provider has committed misconduct based upon alleged fraudulent conduct. The Court held that this authority belongs solely to state regulators, specifically New York's Board of Regents, which oversees professional licensing and discipline. This follows a similar recent ruling in Florida reported in this publication.
New Member of Northwestern Health Sciences University Board of Trustees
Northwestern Health Sciences University announced that it recently appointed Brent Wilde, chief executive officer of Kidney Specialists of Minnesota, to its Board of Trustees. Kidney Specialists of Minnesota is the largest nephrology practice in the Twin Cities and surrounding communities.
Previously, Wilde was senior vice president and chief financial officer of University of Minnesota Physicians. He has also held executive positions at Emergency Physicians, PA; NovoLogix; Fairview Health Services and PreferredOne Management Company.
Wilde holds a Master of Business Administration in new venture management / entrepreneurship from the University of St. Thomas. He is highly skilled in strategic and financial planning, creating high-performing teams, and process improvement.
