| Digital ExclusiveLife University Students, Faculty and Alumni Provide Care for U.S. Masters Swimmers
Marietta, Georgia, August 22, 2011 – For the second straight year, Life University port Health Science students, faculty and alumni provided chiropractic care to the participants at the US Masters Swimming (USMS) Summer Nationals.
The feedback from the swimmers was tremendous. Comments included "I haven't swum this well in decades" and "this was my best time in 12 years" with the mprovement being credited to the chiropractic care. At least two swimmers who received chiropractic care set world age group records.
Students Jessica Camplese, Kristin Domingeuz, D.C., Jinjiang Li, Grant Mitchell, Shoshana Sevel and faculty member Keith Rau, D.C. joined three Life alumni, practicing in Alabama, Drs. Greg Dykes, Rusty Herring and Jon Alan Smith at Auburn University on August 5th and 6th. The team set up chiropractic tables on the pool deck next to the warm‐up pool on both days. A significant percentage of the wimmers returned the next day for additional chiropractic care due to the good results.
USMS is opening to swimmers 18 and over. This year's event featured almost 700 competitors ranging from 18‐95 years old and represented most of the USA and several foreign countries. Providing chiropractic care to the competitors began in 2010 when the event was held at Georgia Tech. Plans are already being made to ontinue providing chiropractic care at the US Master Swimming Spring Nationals in Greensboro, North Carolina in 2012.
