Dr. Deborah Pogrelis Is New Chair of Life University Board of Trustees

At the Life University Board of Trustees' quarterly board meeting on July 19, 2012, Woodstock, Ga., resident Deborah Pogrelis, DC, was elected chairperson of the board. Dr. Pogrelis, who has served in various roles on the board of trustees since 2009, takes over for Shawn Ferguson, DC, who served as chairperson since 2010.

On taking over as chairperson, Dr. Pogrelis said, "I look forward to leading the Board of Trustees as we continue to work with the administration to fulfill the mission and goals of Life University. In addition to housing the largest chiropractic college in the world, the quality and growth of our undergraduate and master's programs has catapulted Life University into being a premier institution of natural health science education. As such, we have responsibility to produce graduates who are skilled practitioners and transformational leaders in an increasingly diverse, global and dynamic world."

Life University President, Dr. Guy Riekeman, commented: "There is an incredible amount of enthusiasm among the Board of Trustees [following] the appointment of Deb Pogrelis. Shawn Ferguson has shown exemplary leadership over the past two years as the university completed two phases of our 2020 Vision. Given Pogrelis' history with Life, she is the perfect person to lead us into phase three and beyond."

Dr. Pogrelis has a long‐tenured relationship with Life University, having been a student in the very first class in January 1975. She previously served the university as chief of staff of clinics and dean of the College of Chiropractic.

Dr. Pogrelis practices at Towne Lake Family Chiropractic in Woodstock and has been a resident of Cherokee County for 34 years.
