Minnesota Chiropractic Association's 64th Annual Convention a Big Success

Chiropractors and clinical assistants came from virtually every area of the state to participate in the Minnesota Chiropractic Association's (MCA) 64th Annual Chiropractic Convention and Celebration, held April 27-29th at the Minneapolis Marriott in Minnetonka. The convention was packed with great information on extremity adjusting, coding and documentation, HIPAA, CPR, pediatrics, an introduction to functional neurology and so much more. Doctors also got the latest on professional boundaries, X-rays, women's health and acupuncture.

The keynote address was an upbeat and motivational presentation by Bill Esteb, president of PatientMedia, providing doctors with a variety of helpful ideas on enhancing their doctor/patient relationships. During Saturday night's award banquet, a special tribute was given to the MCA past presidents for all their hard work, leadership and dedication to the profession over the years.

Saturday night's festivities ended with an encore performance from the "Secret Chiro Man," Dr. Keith Johnson, and this year the audience also got to enjoy the vocal talents of Dr. Zack Kimble, Dr. Matt Caron, Dr. Darren Roemhildt and others. Music, dancing, conversation and fun extended until the early morning hours.

The convention and celebration concluded with a legislative update from MCA lobbyist Kevin Goodn, JD, and a presentation offering doctors the latest on anti-shadowing activities in Minnesota, by MCA lobbyist and legal counsel, Cort Holten, JD.

New leadership elected by the membership during the annual meeting is as follows: President, Dr. Christian Kollar; 1st Vice President, Dr. Scott Mooring; 2 nd Vice President, Dr. Douglas Broman; Treasurer, Dr. Lisa Hellerud; and Secretary, Dr. Richard Hueffmeier.
