It’s a new year and many chiropractors are evaluating what will enhance their respective practices, particularly as it relates to their bottom line. One of the most common questions I get is: “Do I need to be credentialed to bill insurance, and what are the best plans to join?” It’s a loaded question – but one every DC ponders. Whether you're already in-network or pondering whether to join, here's what you need to know.
Palmer College President Selected to Attend Prestigious Harvard Summer Program
Dr. Donald P. Kern, President of Palmer College of Chiropractic, has been selected as one of 95 participants from around the world to attend Harvard University's Summer 1990 Institute for Educational Management. The Institute for Educational Management (IEM), now in its 21st year, is a comprehensive, intensive four-week program for senior executives of colleges and universities. It provides an opportunity for growth, renewal, and the development of new insights into leadership and management in higher education.
Participants in the institute are college and university presidents, vice presidents, deans, and other senior officers from institutions in both the public and private sectors. All aspects of the institute's programs are designed to assist participants to benefit from the experience of their colleagues at other institutions.
Instructors for the institute include professors from the Harvard Business School, the Harvard Graduate School of Education, and other leading higher education experts from around the country. The curriculum focuses on the major challenges faced by senior officers: monitoring the environment, setting directions, managing implementation, and developing resources.
Dr. Sharon McDade, director of the Institute for Educational Management, said that this year's admissions committee was extremely impressed with the quality of the applicant pool from which the participants were selected.
"It was a very competitive admissions process, and we are very proud of the higher education leaders that have been selected for the Institute."
This year's Institute will be held July 8-August 4 at Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachussetts.
