Clinton's Health Security Act Submitted for Congressional Consideration

Well, it has finally arrived -- the Health Security Act -- the 1,342-page health care bill that is now in the hands of the 103rd. Congress.

Fortunately, this massive legislative health reform tome has a companion piece, Health Security: The President's Report to the American People, a more consumable 136-pages that explains in everyday English the reform proposed by the Health Security Act.

As the Health Security Act hit (fell on) Capital Hill just as we were going to press, "DC" will present in its next issue the reactions to the bill from the ACA, ICA, and the Coalition for Chiropractic Inclusion in National Health Care Reform. Stayed tuned.

In the meantime, you might want to get a head start by reading Health Security: The President's Report to the American People. There has long been an attempt by those who are not legitimate doctors of chiropractic to usurp the title of chiropractor from those who have earned their degree from an accredited chiropractic program. This generally happens in countries where the local doctors of chiropractic have yet to pass legislation requiring a degree from an accredited institution. The result is essentially two chiropractic professions. Nowhere is this danger more pronounced than in Japan.
