Because they have yet to pass national legislation protecting the chiropractic profession, Japanese DCs are in a similar situation that U.S. DCs faced. We were fortunate enough to be able to pass chiropractic licensure state by state. The DCs in Japan must accomplish this nationally, which has proved to be an extremely difficult task. And in spite of their efforts, Japanese DCs are currently faced with two chiropractic professions.
Life College Hosts National College Clinic Directors Meeting
Chiropractic clinic directors representing 14 chiropractic colleges across the nation and Canada met at Life College November 12-14 for the annual Council on Clinic Administrators meeting held at Life College. The directors discussed topics including Council on Chiropractic Education (CCE) requirements, patient care, and new software for record keeping.
Dr. Hubert A. Hitchcock, Life's vice president for clinics, coordinated the conference, which included touring the college's campus and outpatient clinic. Directors also met with Life President Dr. Sid E. Williams at a reception and dinner.
Indiana Association Names Chiropractor of the Year
Dr. Robert Tennant of Greenfield, Indiana was named the "Chiropractor of the Year" by the Indiana State Chiropractic Association (ISCA) at the organization's 1992 fall convention October 10-11, 1992 in Indianapolis. The award is given annually to the doctor who has demonstrated exemplary contributions to the chiropractic profession, chiropractic patients, and the ISCA.
Dr. Tennant is a graduate of National College of Chiropractic and has been a member of ISCA for over 19 years, and serves as Indiana delegate to the ACA. In addition to practicing chiropractic for 20 years, Dr. Tennant has served Indiana citizens as a past member of the Indiana Board of Chiropractic Examiners.
