Because they have yet to pass national legislation protecting the chiropractic profession, Japanese DCs are in a similar situation that U.S. DCs faced. We were fortunate enough to be able to pass chiropractic licensure state by state. The DCs in Japan must accomplish this nationally, which has proved to be an extremely difficult task. And in spite of their efforts, Japanese DCs are currently faced with two chiropractic professions.
ChiroMaster Awards 2000 Contest Begins July 1
Two years ago, Dynamic Chiropractic created the "ChiroMaster" website award contest. The intention of the contest was to recognize individual doctors of chiropractic who had put in the time and energy to create useful, comprehensive websites for their practices, and to encourage other DCs to design their own sites as a means of educating the public about chiropractic.
On July 1, Dynamic Chiropractic will begin accepting submissions for this year's Chiro- Master contest. As in previous years, there will be no set limit to the the number of sites that receive the ChiroMaster award. All sites that the website committee considers exceptional will receive the ChiroMaster. Sites that win the award will be featured in an upcoming issue of Dynamic Chiropractic and will be highlighted for their individual strengths, such as "best layout" and "most visually appealing."
Sites will also be judged on both chiropractic and technical criteria, including (but not limited to):
- information about your practice;
- information for your patients;
- information about the art and science of chiropractic;
- download time and browser compatibility;
- ease of use and site layout.
