A historic meeting between chiropractic and Make America Healthy Again (MAHA) leadership took place on March 10th, 2026, in Washington, D.C., featuring representatives from chiropractic national organizations, professional associations and policy principals. The collective goal: advancing the role of chiropractic in improving the health of Americans. Meeting participants focused on long-standing issues that have affected the chiropractic profession for decades, including access to care, reimbursement parity, and ensuring DCs have an appropriate role in national health policy discussions.

In February 2002, American Chiropractic Association (ACA) House of Delegates passed a Managed Care Resolution that reads in part: "...the ACA vehemently opposes these harmful and discriminatory practices, including but not limited to: limiting full scope of practice, inappropriate CPT applications and reimbursement policies, use of discount/affinity programs, restrictive limits of care, and improper utilization review." and continues by reading "...that ACA staff and leadership are directed to communicate our concerns to the profession; obtain detailed data on these abuses; develop and implement a plan to halt these unfair practices; and give a status report in August 2002 and at each subsequent House of Delegates meeting."
To address the last portion of the Managed Care Resolution, the ACA Department of Professional Development Research (PDR) is introducing a Data Collection Survey form (see below). Practitioners should complete the form for situations relating to network access, reimbursement methodology, etc. with HMO/PPO health plans, networks, etc.
Issues are reviewed and included in a database for trend analysis and feedback to the network and reports at future HOD meetings. Complete, written information may be provided for each network - or may be requested later. Trend analysis provided to the networks will not include the practitioner's name or identifying information. This is not a one-time survey but is an ongoing data collection of issues related to the networks you work with on a daily basis. Your participation is vital to make this a success. You make a difference!
