Parker LV Celebrates Beginning of New Era
Parker Seminars held its Las Vegas seminar and expo in February at the new Caesar’s Forum Event Center, moving the event from the Paris Hotel, which served as the host hotel for a number of years. According to Parker, nearly 5,000 health care professionals attended the event, enjoying more than 40 speakers, continuing-education courses covering a wide span of topics, and a robust expo showcasing the latest products and services relevant to doctors of chiropractic and their patients / practices.

2024 World Spine Day Theme Announced
“Support Your Spine” is the theme of this year’s World Spine Day, celebrated annually on Oct. 16. Per a World Federation of Chiropractic announcement, “The 2024 initiative urges individuals to spread awareness about the worldwide impact of spinal pain and disability. It aims to empower people of all ages, across all nations to adopt evidence-based strategies for maintaining spinal health under the slogan ‘Support Your Spine.’”
“The World Spine Day public health initiative presents a platform for collective action in addressing global concerns surrounding spinal pain and disability,” said World Spine Day Global Executive Committee Co-Chair & Project Lead, Dr. Rebekah Wilks. “Our objective is to empower individuals to champion prevention efforts and implement robust management strategies for spinal conditions and spinal health promotion.”
NBCE Hosts Inaugural CERA Committee Meeting
In February, the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners (NBCE) hosted the inaugural Chiropractic Education Readiness Assessment (CERA) Committee meeting, attended by representatives of 13 chiropractic colleges. According to the NBCE, CERA:
“[Is] the first assessment tool of its kind in the chiropractic field for students who have recently entered a Doctor of Chiropractic Program (DCP). Created to identify strengths and acquired proficiencies in both academic and non-cognitive areas, CERA has the potential to help identify beneficial interventions or support methods to improve student success in Doctor of Chiropractic Programs, NBCE examinations, and well into clinical practice.”
McAndrews Award Recipients Named
Drs. Ian Coulter, Miron Stano, Cynthia Long, and Katherine Pohlman are the latest recipients of the George P. and Jerome F. McAndrews Memorial Research Fund Award, presented in March at the Association of Chiropractic Colleges Educational and Research Agenda Conference (ACC-RAC) in San Diego. The award honors the McAndrews brothers’ “longtime support of the scientific and practical advancement of chiropractic.”
