3rd President of Life West Named
Life Chiropractic College West recently announced that after a comprehensive presidential search process, interim president Dr. Ron Oberstein has been officially named third president of the college. In an announcement on the Life West website, the college stated that Dr. Oberstein's tenure was effective immediately.
Dr. Oberstein assumed the interim presidential position in October 2016 following the resignation of Dr. Brian Kelly, who had served as president since January 2011.
"The Board of Regents was very pleased to have a large field of competent applicants from which to choose," said board member Dr. Steven Silk, who chaired the presidential search process. "The quality of the candidates made the process very rigorous. The search effort ultimately allowed us the ability to choose the person best-qualified for the job. We are 100% certain that person is Dr. Ron Oberstein."
The Standard Process Center of Excellence is set to open this fall at the North Carolina Research Campus in Kannapolis, N.C. The center, situated on the first floor of the campus' David H. Murdock Core Laboratory Building, "will be a focal point for innovation in nutritional therapy, developing new solutions for health care professionals and patients while advancing the science of whole food nutrition," according to Standard Process. "Innovation will be bolstered by collaborative relationships with the NCRC's university research centers, the David H. Murdock Research Institute and the campus' other corporate and community partners."
