The Academy of Integrative Health & Medicine (AIHM) hosts its annual conference Oct. 25-29, 2015 in San Diego. Titled "People, Planet, Purpose: Global Practitioners United in Health & Healing," the event features a wide range of speakers representing integrative health care: Deepak Chopra, MD, Daniel Cherkin, PhD, Dean Ornish, MD, Joseph Pizzorno, ND, John Weeks, and others. DC presenters include Drs. Scott Haldeman, Christine Goertz, William Meeker and Datis Kharrazian.

The AIHM "is dedicated to engaging a global community of health professionals and health seekers in innovative education, certification, leadership, inter-professional collaboration, research, and advocacy that embraces all global healing traditions, to promote the creation of health and the delivery of evidence-informed comprehensive, affordable, sustainable person-centered care." UnitedHealthcare Removing Prior Authorization for Chiropractic

UnitedHealth Group, parent company of UnitedHealthcare, has announced sweeping changes to its prior-authorization (PA) requirements that will eliminate the requirement for chiropractic care and numerous other healthcare services by the end of 2026. Doctors of chiropractic, other providers and patients have long lamented prior authorization requirements because they can delay needed treatment, limit access and even cause some patients not to pursue care.
