Recent laws in New Jersey and California represent a disturbing trend that will negatively impact a practice’s ability to collect monies from patients, as well as expose them to significant penalties if the practice does not follow the mandatory guidelines to a T. Please be aware that a similar law may be coming to your state. The time to act is before the law is passed.
Kent Greenawalt Presented With ICCI Fellowship Award
Kent Greenawalt, president and CEO of Foot Levelers, was presented with the Fellowship Award from International College of Chiropractors Incorporated (ICCI) at the Florida Chiropractic Association Seminar in Orlando. The ICCI is a nonprofit organization that encourages a high code of ethics among practitioners, researchers, educators and others in the chiropractic profession.
Recipients of the Fellowship Award have a designation as a Fellow. Becoming a Fellow is bestowed upon those whose contributions have made or who will make significant impact upon the science of chiropractic and who render valuable and meritorious service to the profession. Individuals have to be nominated by a Fellow member; the ICCI Board Members vote on nominees and those selected receive the Fellowship Award.
The Fellowship award is usually only given to doctors of chiropractic, but individuals who have done extraordinary things for the profession can receive an honorary Fellow Award.
"I [actually] am very surprised Kent was not given this award earlier," said Dr. Kenneth W. Padgett, president of the ICCI. "Kent and his company, Foot Levelers, have been so beneficial to the profession. He has done a number of outstanding things for the profession - too many to name. Their goodwill and monetary donations have gone above and beyond all expectations."
An example of Greenawalt's contribution to chiropractic is the formation of the Foundation of Chiropractic Progress (FCP) in 2003. He currently serves as the founder and chairman of the board for the FCP. The FCP embraces a mission of generating positive press for the chiropractic profession and increasing public awareness to the many benefits associated with chiropractic care.
"Kent contributes, progresses, and advances chiropractic because he truly loves the profession," Dr. Padgett added. "He deserves, and is fully entitled to the Fellowship Award."
