When sports chiropractors first appeared at the Olympic Games in the 1980s, it was alongside individual athletes who had experienced the benefits of chiropractic care in their training and recovery processes at home. Fast forward to Paris 2024, where chiropractic care was available in the polyclinic for all athletes, and the attitude has now evolved to recognize that “every athlete deserves access to sports chiropractic."
NBCE Honored for Excellence in Community Design
The National Board of Chiropractic Examiners' (NBCE) Horace C. Elliott Center was honored by the City of Greeley (Colo.) as a recipient of the 8th annual City of Greeley Excellence in Community Design Award. The Greeley Planning Commission established this award in 2004 to recognize local building projects on an annual basis.
These building projects demonstrate outstanding construction, design and execution. Some of the criteria include:
- Contribution to city design objectives
- Quality of the environment
- Innovation
- Context of the project
- Quality of construction materials
- Interpretation of the design into the final project
Awards are presented to architects, builders, landscape designers and others who have achieved excellence in a local project. The winners are selected by a seven-member panel of judges from the Greeley community.
The award ceremony was conducted at the City of Greeley's Sept. 6 City Council Meeting with Pamela Kurtz, NBCE Director of Administration, accepting the award on behalf of the NBCE.
