Breaking Ground: New Building in the Works for NBCE

Editorial Staff

The National Board of Chiropractic Examiners (NBCE), headquartered in Greeley, Colo., since 1978 and at its current facility in West Greeley for the past 19 years, recently broke ground on a new 15,000 square-foot, $2.5 million meeting facility scheduled to be completed in May 2010. According to the NBCE, "the new building will house state-of-the-art audiovisual and teleconferencing equipment that will enhance the ability of test committee members to develop future examinations testing basic science and clinical knowledge and the demonstration of clinical competency."

Joining President Vernon Temple, DC, and Executive Vice President Horace Elliott, DC, at the ceremony were members of the NBCE Executive Board (Drs. Edwin Weathersby, Richard Cole and Ted Scott), as well as Dr. Daniel Saint-Germain, president of the Federation of Chiropractic Licensing Boards, who chairs the NBCE Developmental Committee.

"The new building represents the growth and expansion necessary for the NBCE and its international component, the International Board of Chiropractic Examiners, to maintain the high standard we have set for testing in the health care community," commented Dr. Temple."

Special guests at the Oct. 16 ground-breaking ceremony included Larry Steel, architect of the planned building; Greeley Mayor Ed Clark; Greeley Chamber of Commerce President Sarah MacQuiddy; Terry Drahota, representing Drahota Construction of Fort Collins, Colo; County Commissioner Sean Conway; Greeley City Council Member Maria Seacrest; Greeley City Manager Roy Otto; Bruce Biggi of the City Economic Development office; and several academic vice presidents of chiropractic colleges.
