New York's highest court of appeals has held that no-fault insurers cannot deny no-fault benefits where they unilaterally determine that a provider has committed misconduct based upon alleged fraudulent conduct. The Court held that this authority belongs solely to state regulators, specifically New York's Board of Regents, which oversees professional licensing and discipline. This follows a similar recent ruling in Florida reported in this publication.
Life West Offers $500 Credit to Incoming Students to Help Defray Rising Costs of Education
As the cost of education continues to increase, Life Chiropractic College West is helping to alleviate some of the burden by offering assistance in the form of a $500 credit. Every incoming student enrolled for Winter 2010 or Spring 2010 will receive the credit, which can be used at the campus bookstore.
According to Brenda Johnson, director of financial aid, "New students need as much support as they can get especially when they start any new program. Our future D.C.'s can use the credit to help them get things from basic school supplies to a Radiology Book Set to their lab jackets or even a portable adjusting table. We believe in our students and are happy to assist them in reaching their dreams. The gesture will hopefully lay the foundation for a productive, enjoyable experience during their studies at Life West."
