New York's highest court of appeals has held that no-fault insurers cannot deny no-fault benefits where they unilaterally determine that a provider has committed misconduct based upon alleged fraudulent conduct. The Court held that this authority belongs solely to state regulators, specifically New York's Board of Regents, which oversees professional licensing and discipline. This follows a similar recent ruling in Florida reported in this publication.
U.C. Berkeley Extension Begins Offering Anatomy Lab Courses at Life West
As of Sept. 3, the University of California Berkeley Post-Baccalaureate Health Professions Program has begun using the anatomy facilities at Life Chiropractic College West for its Human Anatomy Laboratory course.
"We are excited to work with such a prestigious program as UC Berkeley Extension," said Dr. Joseph Ferguson, Life West dean. "By offering exceptional facilities and ample support and cooperation, we aim to create a productive environment for their students to excel. It is our hope to build upon this relationship and offer additional classes over time."
As U.C. Berkeley Extension began expanding its programs into both East and South Bay regions, the university sought local facilities to accommodate its anatomy students. Easy access to both Highway 92 and I-880 freeways, along with ample parking, were valuable features making Life West an attractive choice. Future courses will be scheduled during evening and/or weekend hours when Life West classes are not in session.
