When sports chiropractors first appeared at the Olympic Games in the 1980s, it was alongside individual athletes who had experienced the benefits of chiropractic care in their training and recovery processes at home. Fast forward to Paris 2024, where chiropractic care was available in the polyclinic for all athletes, and the attitude has now evolved to recognize that “every athlete deserves access to sports chiropractic."
Texas Chiropractic College Appoints New Chief Fiscal Officer
Texas Chiropractic College (TCC) has named William S. Quinn, CPA, as the school's new chief fiscal officer. TCC President Richard G. Brassard, DC, made the announcement on July 21. Quinn had been serving as interim CFO following the March 2009 departure of Sandy Mooney, former vice president of financial affairs.
"I am very pleased to announce that Bill Quinn will be permanently taking on the position of Chief Fiscal Officer for Texas Chiropractic College," said Dr. Brassard. "Bill has been a great member of the TCC family since 1998, and has done a tremendous job in handling his own duties while taking on the responsibilities of the CFO position the past few months."
As the budget and accounting officer at TCC for the past 10 years, Quinn was the primary assistant to Mooney and was charged with budget maintenance, cash management, general ledger and financial statements. He also assisted the college with systems configurations and transitions between data management products, as well as administration of a variety of financial software.
"This is an unbelievable honor for me to be named the CFO of Texas Chiropractic College," said Quinn. "I appreciate Dr. Brassard showing his confidence in my abilities to handle the responsibilities of the position and to protect the interests of TCC."
Prior to his arrival at TCC, Quinn worked as an accounting analyst and supervisor in general accounting for Houston Industries (formerly Houston Lighting & Power Company) from 1980 to 1998. He is a 1989 graduate of the University of Houston, earning a bachelor's of business administration in organizational and behavioral management. He initially earned an associate's degree in accounting from the State University of New York at Alfred in 1980.
Quinn is an active member of the Clear Lake Chamber of Commerce, serving as a member of the board of directors, the education division and the legislative affairs division. Last October, he was named the vice chairman of finance in the executive committee for the chamber. He is also active in the Bay Area Houston Economic Partnership as a member of the education and workforce development committee for the past nine years.
