When sports chiropractors first appeared at the Olympic Games in the 1980s, it was alongside individual athletes who had experienced the benefits of chiropractic care in their training and recovery processes at home. Fast forward to Paris 2024, where chiropractic care was available in the polyclinic for all athletes, and the attitude has now evolved to recognize that “every athlete deserves access to sports chiropractic."

Northwestern Providing Integrated Services to Elderly
The Wolfe-Harris Center for Clinical Studies at Northwestern Health Sciences University is poised to launch a demonstration project in conjunction with Volunteers of America to offer health care services to the elderly. According to Roni Evans, MS, DC, dean of research at Northwestern, the primary goal of the project is "to determine the feasibility of developing a sustainable and replicable model for providing integrated chiropractic, acupuncture and massage services for Volunteers of America's elderly residents."
Founded in 1896, Volunteers of America provides housing, health care and other services to an estimated 2 million people in 44 states. Services specific to the elderly population include professional long-term care, assisted living, senior centers, meal programs, and health and nursing home care.
