When sports chiropractors first appeared at the Olympic Games in the 1980s, it was alongside individual athletes who had experienced the benefits of chiropractic care in their training and recovery processes at home. Fast forward to Paris 2024, where chiropractic care was available in the polyclinic for all athletes, and the attitude has now evolved to recognize that “every athlete deserves access to sports chiropractic."
European Fed. of ProChiro. Associations Now ProChiropractic Europe
Submitted by Ann-Liss Taarup President, ProChiropractic Europe
At the last European Federation of ProChiropractic Associations (EFPC) General Assembly [held annually, usually in connection with the European Chiropractors' Union (ECU) convention], we decided to change our name; we are now known as ProChiropractic Europe. All EFPC delegates were asked their opinion on this, and all responded positively. Our Web site has also changed; you can now find us under the new domain name www.prochiropractic.org. The site is being updated and news initiatives are being implemented in several languages.
Many of the oldest ProChiropractic Associations are also in the process of change. In those countries where chiropractic is legalized and there is a university-based chiropractic education, there needs to be more encouragement to persuade people to sign up as members. "Welcome to your chiropractor" [an introduction to chiropractic, intended to educate the public] is being translated into both Swedish and Italian, and already there is information in four different languages, and more under construction.
Ireland and Poland have contacted us and are interested in establishing patient associations. If any country needs information on the future strategy of ProChiropractic Europe or wishes to establish a ProChiropractic association, please contact us:

ProChiropractic Europe is an international organisation of Pro-Chiropractic associations (PCA) in Europe with the purpose of promoting chiropractic in the country where the association is based.
The purpose of the ProChiropractic Europe is to provide a forum to exchange ideas, to develop common policies, and to promote chiropractic as an independent health care option in the European countries.
Throughout many countries in Europe, PCA's have been formed: Denmark, England, France, Finland, Germany, Italy, Netherlands and Switzerland are all members of ProChiropractic Europe.
