As a practitioner, you know foot pain should be addressed as soon as possible, as pain in one or both feet can potentially lead to impairment of foot function. But rather than treating foot pain with over-the-counter pain and anti-inflammatory medications such as ibuprofen, or prescription nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), or even corticosteroid injections for chronic foot pain, why not try red light / infrared therapy?
Homeopathy -- the Chiropractic Synergist
As far as the majority of the profession -- including me -- is concerned, the specific chiropractic adjustment is the foundation and principal therapeutic modality of chiropractic. In spite of this fact, the adjustment has its limitations. If it didn't, we would effect a cure on everyone we adjusted. In essence, we would have a panacea.
This mustn't mean that everyone whose health doesn't respond instantly, or whose physical and emotional problems can't be completely resolved with adjustments must therefore be shunted off to some medical practitioner for an orgy of needles, knives, and drugs.
It should be incumbent upon the chiropractic physician to either introduce the patients to other conservative alternatives in the office or refer them to those within the profession with a more eclectic approach.
It's my firm belief that homeopathy is the perfect conservative synergist to chiropractic and that this powerful and safe modality should be incorporated in as many practices as possible. Acting upon this belief, I've produced columns in the past on specific homeopathic therapy and plan to continue to do so in the future. Still, there are many extremely well qualified chiropractors and homeopathists that we can, and should, learn from. For this reason, the following is the beginning of a regular series which will be presented for your edification and knowledge.
This, of course, is not for those in the chiropractic profession who've been laboring for years in a philosophical gridlock. It's said that life is movement but unfortunately the thinking of these individuals is trapped in a kind of time warp -- suspended in a tragic and disoriented world of quasi-reality. Rather, this is a series produced by some of the most qualified homeopathic practitioners in the world, for the vast majority of our profession whose major concern is for the welfare of their patients, using any viable conservative means available. To those doctors and the patients they serve, we dedicate this series.
