The SCMC strives to meet standards consistent with professionalism. Affiliation with the SCMC requires a commitment to established rules of business and ethical conduct. A member of the society, abides by these dictates: shall not sign students to practice management contracts until after their graduation; fees may not be based on a percentage of services rendered or income; shall not promote any specific religion(s) nor provide religious counseling; shall not engage in self-dealing or conflicts of interest with their clients; and shall not guarantee results to their clients or engage in misleading or deceptive advertising.

The SCMC has recently announced that it is accepting applications for membership. The next meeting of the SCMC is in Chicago, April 5-7. Candidates for admission will present themselves before the Application Committee on Sunday, April 5.
