When sports chiropractors first appeared at the Olympic Games in the 1980s, it was alongside individual athletes who had experienced the benefits of chiropractic care in their training and recovery processes at home. Fast forward to Paris 2024, where chiropractic care was available in the polyclinic for all athletes, and the attitude has now evolved to recognize that “every athlete deserves access to sports chiropractic."
What If ...
In keeping with the MPI paradigm and to maintain chiropractic's leading edge, it is important that we read current texts and journals on the various aspects of the chiropractic subluxation complex, and to attend postgraduate seminars. During the last few months I have received numerous letters and telephone calls asking for the names of textbooks and journals that contain information relevant to the chiropractic profession, ones that doctors can use to reference their medical/legal reports.
To produce such a list is an extremely easy task as our library contains hundreds of such texts and 15 or so journals. Needless to say, I doubt you would purchase such a voluminous body of work. I have therefore made a short list; in six months or so, I will add further references. In order to categorize these texts I have chosen to use the MPI seminar format of S1 and S2, and E1 and E2.

I realize that this may seem like a rather lengthy list, but
considering what is available, it is not.
I would like to address a question and a criticism that will most
assuredly be put forth by some of our peers: Why does this list
contain only two texts authored by DCs, and why are you quoting
medical literature?
The answer is that manipulation/adjustment is generic and
chiropractic does not own it. You need only look to a text of the
very early 1880s, Papers on Health, to see with your own eyes some
of the adjustments and concepts that we hold dearest to our hearts.
Relax, the next list will have some additional texts authored by
doctors of chiropractic.
So start reading, and have fun learning.
