Because they have yet to pass national legislation protecting the chiropractic profession, Japanese DCs are in a similar situation that U.S. DCs faced. We were fortunate enough to be able to pass chiropractic licensure state by state. The DCs in Japan must accomplish this nationally, which has proved to be an extremely difficult task. And in spite of their efforts, Japanese DCs are currently faced with two chiropractic professions.
LACC to Hold Mercy Guidelines Seminar
LACC plans to hold a "user friendly" seminar on the Mercy Center Guidelines March 27-28, 1993 on the college's Whittier campus, and in a second location, San Francisco, April 17-18, 1993.
The seminar presenters were all involved in the Mercy Center Conference: Dr. Dan Hansen, of the LACC postgraduate faculty, and Dr. Alan Adams, LACC resource faculty member, both served on the Mercy Conference steering committee and were commission members; Dr. Robert Mootz was a Mercy Conference commission member; and Ms. Laura Dressler was a corporate (OUM) Mercy Conference observer.
The seminar is intended to instruct how to properly use the Guidelines for Chiropractic Quality Assurance and Practice Parameters, informally known as the Mercy Guidelines.
License renewal credit is applied for in most states and Canada. For further information contact the LACC postgraduate division, P.O. Box 1166, Whittier, CA 90609, telephone (310) 947-8755.
