While there may be no “magic bullet” when it comes to health, this should not dissuade patients or practitioners from seeking out ingredients that offer multiple health benefits. When it comes to dietary supplements, there are thousands upon thousands of choices. So, why not choose one that can address pain and assist with mental health? A supplement that can address inflammation, while also preventing certain types of cancer.
| Digital ExclusiveTelevising the Chiropractic Story
It's a rap. The filming is complete, and the project is ready to air. For the past year, Guy Riekeman, DC, and the media committee of the Chiropractic Centennial Foundation have been working diligently to finance, produce, and air a documentary on chiropractic, communicating chiropractic's roots, development, and position within health care today.
The one-hour chiropractic documentary is composed of eight vignettes that chart the course of health care over the past 200 years. In this spectacular documentary we see alternative health care gain popularity; in the second half-hour, chiropractic appears on the health scene. Through interviews, re-enactments, and testimonials, we see the profession grow, prosper, and prepare itself to lead the redefinition of health care.
Who's Paying for the Chiropractic Documentary?
The initial production costs have already been covered by contributions from corporate sponsors and individual DCs. DCs attending the Washington Grand Celebration will see it first, followed by Davenport attendees in September.
When Will the Documentary Air?
More money needs to be raised to air the documentary nationally. If the fundraising goes as planned, the documentary will hit the airwaves in late fall of this year.
How Can I Help Put the Documentary on National Television?
The plan is to buy air time on two superstations, with a viewing audience of 50.4 million households in 211 major media markets. That will cover the entire United States, parts of Canada, and the U.S. Virgin Islands, and represents more than 60 percent of the U.S. cable market. However, the Chiropractic Centennial Foundation needs your contribution to help buy the air time needed to cover the country.
The Centennial Foundation has produced a special media kit which will be given to every person who donates at least $100. In addition, they will be acknowledged in Dynamic Chiropractic and the Centennial Commemorative Book.
Those who wish to donate at least $500 will receive their own limited edition VHS copy of the documentary for use in their office. Special recognition will be given in the documentary credits to those DCs and companies who donate at least 1,000.
While additional privileges are listed in the table below, the goal is communicating and educating the millions of people who have yet to discover the benefits of chiropractic. As B.J. Palmer realized years ago, reaching the public must be our top priority.
To do your part to bring the chiropractic story to the world, please call (toll free) 1-800-635-8188. We only have to reach another 10 percent of the population to double the average number of chiropractic patients.
