New York's highest court of appeals has held that no-fault insurers cannot deny no-fault benefits where they unilaterally determine that a provider has committed misconduct based upon alleged fraudulent conduct. The Court held that this authority belongs solely to state regulators, specifically New York's Board of Regents, which oversees professional licensing and discipline. This follows a similar recent ruling in Florida reported in this publication.
Dr. W. Karl Parker Appointed President of Parker College
DALLAS, Texas -- At their September 26th meeting, the board of trustees of the Parker College of Chiropractic approved the decision to appoint Dr. Karl Parker president of the college. Parker College founder and president, Dr. James William Parker, will now hold the title of president-emeritus.
Dr. Karl Parker has been vice-president of the Parker Chiropractic Resource Foundation (PCRF) for the last 10 years, an organization founder by Dr. James Parker in 1951. The foundation has conducted the seminars of the Parker School for Professional Success (PSPS) ever since.
The Parker Board released a statement that there will be no essential change in conduct or operations in either the college or the foundation.
Dr. Jim Parker will continue to teach and work at the college, with the same offices and staff, managing the various Parker publications. He will continue his speaking schedule and teaching at the PSPS Seminars.
The shift in presidential command is seen as relieving Dr. Jim Parker of the many time-consuming responsibilities of day-to-day administration of the college, while providing him with a greater opportunity to perform in a more diverse capacity for chiropractic and Parker College.
