Dynamic Chiropractic is First Chiropractic Newspaper to be Indexed by CINAHL

Editorial Staff

The Cumulative Index to Nursing & Allied Health Literature (CINAHL) is considered one of the primary indexing services in health care. While they initially began indexing only chiropractic research journals, requests from users of their service have prompted CINAHL to begin indexing other chiropractic publication.

The CINAHL was established in 1956, and its first volume indexed articles from 12 nursing journals. Today the CINAHL, published 10 times a year, indexes some 300 English language journals, and scans the 2,600 biomedical journals from Index Medicus. Other than chiropractic, CINAHL indexes literature from nursing; occupational therapy; physical therapy and rehabilitation; respiratory therapy; radiotherapy and cardiopulmonary technology; emergency services; health education; surgical technology; medical and physician's assistants.

While CINAHL will eventually index most chiropractic publications, they currently index:

California Chiropractic Association Journal
Chiropractic History
Chiropractic Report
Chiropractic Technique
D.C. Tracts
Dynamic Chiropractic
Journal of Manipulative and Physiological Therapeutics (JMPT)
Journal of Chiropractic Education
Journal of Canadian Chiropractic Association
Journal of Neuromuskuloskeletal System (JNMS)
