New York's highest court of appeals has held that no-fault insurers cannot deny no-fault benefits where they unilaterally determine that a provider has committed misconduct based upon alleged fraudulent conduct. The Court held that this authority belongs solely to state regulators, specifically New York's Board of Regents, which oversees professional licensing and discipline. This follows a similar recent ruling in Florida reported in this publication.
"Ask a Doctor of Chiropractic" Forum Needs Volunteers
Ask a Doctor of Chiropractic is a public forum on ChiroWeb (www.chiroweb.com/find/ask.html) where people post generic questions about chiropractic. The two doctors of chiropractic who have been generously volunteering their time to answer these inquires are George Best, and Allen Manison.
These doctors need your help. "It's gotten to the point where I'm often spending as much as one to two hours per day answering questions," relates Dr. Best. "Some days the load is pretty light, but more and more frequently there are several questions that require fairly in-depth responses."
DCs who volunteer will have their photos and biographies presented on the "Ask a Doctor of Chiropractic" site. If you can help answer questions from patients and potential patients, please contact us at editorial@mpamedia.com.
