The World Federation of Chiropractic (WFC), as part of a fundraising campaign is auctioning the "Arnold Schwarzenegger signature adjusting table" now through July 31. At press time, Dr. L. Thomas holds the top bid at $8,000.
The table, a motorized Leander 900 Z, was signed by Mr. Schwarzenegger at the 13th annual Arnold Schwarzenegger Classic Fitness Expo (March 2-4, in Columbus, Ohio), which is held each year in conjunction with the ICA's Symposium on Natural Fitness.
Arnold Schwarzenegger is, of course, the small-town Austrian lad who put bodybuilding on the map. By age 20 he had been crowned "Mr. Germany." Seeking broader fame, he came to the U.S. and won the Mr. Universe title five times, and the Mr. Olympia crown seven times. And like his childhood idol, Steve Reeves of the Hercules movies, Arnold parlayed his classically chiselled physique into international movie stardom.
Today, Arnold is being encouraged to run for political office, most recently urged to run for governor of California. However, Arnold has noted his desire to continue his action-hero movie roles a few more years before conquering the political arena.
The motorized Leander 900 Z table that Arnold signed was donated by Leader Health Technologies. The table features:
