Being proactive vs. reactive with tax planning will have a tremendous impact on profitability and long-term wealth creation. Keep in mind, I am not a CPA and I am not giving tax advice. Rather, I’m passing on information that I learned as a practice owner and now implement in my financial planning practice. While not an exhaustive list, here are a few items to contemplate in 2025 as you watch the dollars in your practice.
Dr. Riekeman Named President of Palmer College of Chiropractic West - Will Preside over Both Palmer Colleges
"More than ever, Palmer Chiropractic will be fulfilling its mission to present the chiropractic profession to the world." - Guy Riekeman,DC
DAVENPORT, Iowa - Guy Riekeman, DC, has been appointed president of Palmer College of Chiropractic West, in San Jose, California. Dr. Riekeman will continue as president of Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. His new responsibilities are effective immediately.
"Dr. Riekeman's leadership at Palmer College has been unparalleled, and his assuming the presidency of both Palmer College and Palmer College West will help us accelerate our progress," predicted Palmer Chancellor Michael Crawford. "This is the first time in the history of the Palmer colleges that we will have a single president for both institutions, and I am confident that Dr. Riekeman is up to the challenge. His energy, vision and passion will be instrumental in enhancing the leadership role of Palmer Chiropractic in the profession."
The two colleges were brought together under a single board of trustees 10 years ago with the creation of Palmer Chiropractic University (PCU). Aside from the two colleges, PCU also encompasses the Palmer Center for Chiropractic Research, the Palmer Institute for Professional Advancement, and the Palmer Foundation for Chiropractic History. Under the new structure, the Palmer Center for Chiropractic Research will report to Dr. Riekeman; the other two entities will have separate corporate structures and, like the college president, report to the chancellor.
The move to a single president for both colleges is a means to implement a common curriculum, in keeping with plans for a third campus in Port Orange, Florida. "A common presidency for all Palmer colleges and a common curriculum will assure a common definition of Palmer chiropractic," asserted Mr. Crawford.
"I am humbled, honored and excited by the possibilities afforded by this new appointment," Dr. Riekeman said. "More than ever, Palmer Chiropractic will be fulfilling its mission to present the chiropractic profession to the world, and I will devote myself to ensuring that we are worthy of that responsibility."
