A historic meeting between chiropractic and Make America Healthy Again (MAHA) leadership took place on March 10th, 2026, in Washington, D.C., featuring representatives from chiropractic national organizations, professional associations and policy principals. The collective goal: advancing the role of chiropractic in improving the health of Americans. Meeting participants focused on long-standing issues that have affected the chiropractic profession for decades, including access to care, reimbursement parity, and ensuring DCs have an appropriate role in national health policy discussions.

Dr. Guy F. Riekeman, chancellor emeritus and former longtime president (2004-2017) of Life University, has passed away after a five-decade career dedicated to advancing and uplifting the chiropractic profession. An announcement from Life University President Dr. Brian McAulay to the Life community following his passing noted he served at a “period during which he is widely credited with helping to save and revitalize the institution. Under his leadership, Life University solidified its standing as a premier institution in chiropractic and health sciences education while strengthening its foundation for future growth and innovation.”
Per the announcement from Dr. McAulay, “Dr. Guy Riekeman was more than a past president or chancellor – he was a transformational presence in the life of this institution. His belief in Life University’s mission and values, especially Lasting Purpose, helped guide us through some of our most challenging times and into a new era of strength and possibility. His passion, his voice and his unwavering commitment to Chiropractic and to our students will be profoundly missed, but his legacy is woven into the very fabric of this University.”
Dr. Riekeman was a 1972 Palmer College of Chiropractic graduate whose distinguished career also included serving as chancellor of the Palmer University System (1998-2004) before taking the helm at Life University.
