Overcoming the Curcumin-Tumeric Challenge

The Most Clinically Studied, Enhanced Absorption
Real Studies, Amazing Results

While turmeric has been part of successful traditional Ayurvedic practice for generations, the absorption of one of its key components, curcumin, has been a challenge.

To begin with, there is only about two to five percent curcumin present in turmeric, so getting benefits from the spice form alone could be difficult. Secondly, curcumin is not readily absorbed in the digestive tract, so even standardized 95 percent extracts may not yield significant results. And adding black pepper extract (piperine) to increase bioavailability could increase the risk of adverse interactions with commonly prescribed medications. So finding a different way to help curcumin reach its full potential was critical. And that led to the development of BCM-95® curcumin.1-3

BCM-95 curcumin delivers this compound in an entirely new and beneficial way. It successfully increases absorption by up to 700 percent compared to standard extracts using a patented process that combines curcumin with turmeric essential oil.4,5

Turmeric essential oil is critical in helping curcumin absorb better and stay in the bloodstream longer. It also contains ar-turmerone, a key component in the oil that provides its own systemic benefits, too.

But the real test of any nutrient is how well it performs. Over 90 published studies -42 of them human clinical trials -show that BCM-95 curcumin can deliver results. Here are just a few to highlight its diverse range of applications:

  • Pain Relief*†: A clinical study found that BCM-95 curcumin combined with a specialized boswellia (BOS-10®) supported pain relief by 64 percent in those taking the herbal ingredients versus 29 percent using a conventional intervention.*†6
  • Joint Health*: BCM-95 curcumin supports mobility, comfort, and walking distance without serious side effects in multiple clinical studies.*7,8
  • Mood*: BCM-95 curcumin is capable of supporting many aspects of healthy mood, including levels of brain neurotransmitters (serotonin, norepinephrine, and dopamine) that modulate behavior, appetite, emotions, and memory.†† Clinical studies have found that those taking BCM-95 noted a significantly improved mood, as demonstrated on standard rating scale measurements.*9-11
  • Cognitive Health*: In clinical research, groups receiving BCM-95 curcumin saw significant antioxidant support and healthy beta amyloid levels.*††12
  • Healthy Cellular Development*: Curcumin is well known for its ability to support healthy cellular development. In a clinical study, researchers reported “remarkable support after only the first 15 days of use.” As an adjunct botanical in cases of prostate health, another clinical study found that men noted support in urinary function by 50 percent and support of other aspects of daily life by 40 percent compared to the placebo group.*13,14

These impressive studies -and this is just a partial example -show why BCM-95 curcumin is a featured ingredient in our curcumin family of supplements. These supplements have been recognized by health professionals as being safe, effective, and reliable formulas that deliver results.

†Occasional muscle pain due to exercise or overuse. ††Supports healthy levels already within normal range.
