When sports chiropractors first appeared at the Olympic Games in the 1980s, it was alongside individual athletes who had experienced the benefits of chiropractic care in their training and recovery processes at home. Fast forward to Paris 2024, where chiropractic care was available in the polyclinic for all athletes, and the attitude has now evolved to recognize that “every athlete deserves access to sports chiropractic."

Dr. Tom LaFountain has been a member of the Professional Golfer's Association (PGA) sports medicine team since 1997 and is the founder of Professional Sports Care. Dr. Tom LaFountain has provided chiropractic / sports medicine services at over 235 PGA tournaments including 15 Masters tournaments; 14 PGA Championship events; 14 U.S. Opens, seven Ryder Cups, and six President Cup events. Dr. Tom LaFountain's overall treatments and evaluations on PGA golfers has exceeded 12,000 visits. He is currently the president of Professional Sports Care, the provider of chiropractic services for PGA and Champions Tour players, a position he has held since 1997.
