When sports chiropractors first appeared at the Olympic Games in the 1980s, it was alongside individual athletes who had experienced the benefits of chiropractic care in their training and recovery processes at home. Fast forward to Paris 2024, where chiropractic care was available in the polyclinic for all athletes, and the attitude has now evolved to recognize that “every athlete deserves access to sports chiropractic."

Daniel J. Murphy, DC, DABCO, is the new vice president, pursuant to a special meeting by the ICA Board of Directors in mid-August. Publications in which Dr. Murphy's articles have appeared include Dynamic Chiropractic and the American Journal of Clinical Chiropractic (as a columnist); he has also contributed to the books Motor Vehicle Collision Injuries (Aspen, 1996) and Pediatric Chiropractic (Williams & Wilkins, 1998).
Actively involved in ICA programs for nearly 20 years, Dr. Murphy has been repeatedly recognized for his service on behalf of the association, including its "Chiropractic Educator of the Year" in 1987 and 1991, and "Researcher of the Year" in 1995.
