Another ASH Cautionary Tale

Dear Editor:

I read the article on ASH and applaud the doctor who wrote that article. [Read Dr. Mha Atma S. Khalsa's letter to the editor, "An Earful for ASH Management," in our April 2022 issue.] I was with ASH for 34 years. Earlier this year, I was sent a certified letter from ASH recommending me for termination. They said I did not re-credential, which I did and sent them a copy.

When they were found caught in their own lie, they had me fill out a 33 page re-credentialing contract with them online, which I did three times because they kept sending me e-mails saying I missed pages. This went on for a week.

Last November, I wrote a letter to George DeVries, the CEO of ASH, asking why our reimbursements in some cases went down and why here in California, we have not had a raise in our reimbursements. I have colleagues in other states who ASH pays more than doctors in California. When I did not get a response from ASH, I figured they probably put my letter in the trash. Well I got my answer Jan. 3, 2022, with the "Recommended for Termination " letter.

As of the time I submitted this letter to Dynamic Chiropractic, ASH still had not formally terminated me, but they did lock me out of my account so I could not submit bills that needed to be submitted for payment.

This company is less than truthful with patients, too. When my patients found out that I was kicked off of ASH, several of them called complaining about them terminating me. ASH lied and told them I was the one asking to be terminated, and in fact I did not know I was being recommended for termination until a longtime patient of mine told me. ASH had already sent letters to some of my patients before informing me. Based on my experience, if you question ASH or push back in any way, they will get rid of you.
