Historic Court Decision in Brazil
Brazil's Supreme Federal Court has ruled in favor of the Brazilian Chiropractic Association, a decision that prohibits PTs from labeling themselves "Chiropractic Physiotherapists" and nullifies Proposition 220, which the Federation of Physical Therapy Licensing Boards had used to claim chiropractic as a PT specialty.
After the chiropractic profession's decade-long harassment by PTs in Brazil, this Supreme Court ruling at last gives Brazilian DCs the legal support they deserve.
Dr. Chris Cassirer, president and CEO of Northwestern Health Sciences University since 2014, has been named chair of the WFC Public Health Committee, the first non-DC appointed to the position. Dr. Cassirer earned a Doctor of Science from Johns Hopkins University, a Master of Public Health from Yale University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Rutgers University.
Standard Process has pledged $500,000 to the University of Western States' capital campaign. The sizable donation will be used to build a commons area, named after the company, that will serve as an entry point to the East-West Hall, the university's largest campus structure.
