When sports chiropractors first appeared at the Olympic Games in the 1980s, it was alongside individual athletes who had experienced the benefits of chiropractic care in their training and recovery processes at home. Fast forward to Paris 2024, where chiropractic care was available in the polyclinic for all athletes, and the attitude has now evolved to recognize that “every athlete deserves access to sports chiropractic."

National Graduate Authors Chapter in Gray's Anatomy
The British reference version of the 41st edition of Gray's Anatomy features a comprehensive chapter on the ankle and foot authored by National University of Health Sciences graduate Dr. Anthony D'Antoni. The 25,000-plus-word chapter appears in the unabridged reference counterpart to the student textbook edition.
"We are proud of Dr. Anthony D'Antoni for reaching this milestone on behalf of his profession," said NUHS President Dr. Joseph Stiefel. "The fact that one of our graduates would qualify as an author for Gray's Anatomy and build a career teaching anatomy in medical schools based on his education here, is indisputable evidence of the quality of education we offer. Dr. D'Antoni is not only proving himself a leader for our profession in academia and research, but also in building respect for chiropractic medicine among other medical specialties around the world."
Dr. D'Antoni is currently a clinical professor and director of anatomy at the CUNY School of Medicine (formerly Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education) in New York City, and serves on the editorial boards of Clinical Anatomy and Translational Research in Anatomy.
Caring for Athletes: Logan Partners With Local University
Logan University recently partnered with Southern Illinois University Edwardsville to provide chiropractic care to student-athletes in conjunction with SIUE's athletic training program. Logan student interns will visit SIUE twice weekly, evaluating and providing recommendations for care under the supervision of clinicians and doctors of chiropractic. SIUE's athletic trainer will then determine how to incorporate treatment (including chiropractic) into the training program.
According to Dr. David Parish, who directs the Master of Sports Science and Rehabilitation program and the Human Performance Center at Logan, the partnership "allows for SIUE athletes to experience chiropractic and for the athletic trainers to see what it can do for their athletes."
