Foundation for Chiropractic Progress Enrolls Second Group Member

The Foundation for Chiropractic Progress has enrolled its second group member: the Florida Chiropractic Association. The FCA joins the Michigan Association of Chiropractors, which enrolled as a group member last month. F4CP group members pledge $10 annually per full-dues-paying member. (Association members who receive discounted dues in their first three years of practice receive F4CP benefits free of charge.)

Group member status entitles all qualifying association members to a wide range of premium foundation benefits including "use of marketing material, a listing in the nationwide directory, access to practice-building webinars and tool kits, and much more."


Focus on Chiropractic Education at WFC-ACC Conference in Miami

The World Federation of Chiropractic and the Association of Chiropractic Colleges joined forces in late October to hold a joint education conference in Miami. The Oct. 29 – Nov. 1, 2014 event featured an array of international thought leaders and policy experts, whose presentations / discussions supported the conference theme, "Chiropractic Education for a Changing Healthcare Environment."

Highlighting this year's conference, co-hosted by the ACA and ICA: the adoption of 13 consensus recommendations, including: "Patient reported outcome measures (PROMS) have an important role to play in a changing health care environment. The utilisation of such instruments should be incorporated within chiropractic curricula"; "Educational models should focus on preparing students for evidence-based practice within the context of a biopsychosocial model"; and "Effective patient management strategies may be enhanced by chiropractic educational programmes having affiliations with established public and private universities." Are You Ready for Another "Have-a-Heart" Campaign?

Oklahaven Children's Chiropractic Center is preparing to kick off its "Have-a-Heart" fund-raiser, an annual event designed to raise money for the nonprofit center while promoting chiropractic care of children. The 2015 fund-raiser will again be held on Valentine's Week, Feb. 6-14, 2015. Chiropractors are encouraged to show Oklahaven's video in their offices and display a colorful heart for each donation received.
