An e-mail to advertisers on Dec. 17, 2012, announced that The Chiropractic Journal would cease publication after 27 years. In his e-mail, publisher Timothy J. Feuling stated: "I want to thank every one of you for marketing with TCJ all these years (or months if you are newer to the publication). ... I looked up deadlines of other publications and there is plenty of time to get linked up to the other publications for their February issue. ... The January 2013 final issue of TCJ you are in will go out in just a few weeks. This is a great final issue."
Feuling acquired The Chiropractic Journal earlier in 2012. An article in the April 2012 of TCJ issue noted: "Timothy Feuling, senior vice president of CBS Malpractice since 1996, has acquired The Chiropractic Journal, now in its 26th year of publication. As the new publisher, Feuling will continue distributing a monthly print version to DCs and chiropractic students around the country while increasing and strengthening the electronic reach of the publication via its website, social media, and mobile applications."
Oddly enough, there was no mention of the former owner of The Chiropractic Journal in the April 2012 article. Also noteworthy was the absence of the World Chiropractic Alliance (WCA) logo from the front page of the April 2012 issue. In fact, the World Chiropractic Alliance is not listed anywhere on The Chiropractic Journal Web site.
As late as the March 2012 issue, The Chiropractic Journal was "the official publication of the World Chiropractic Alliance." The home page of the WCA Web site has apparently not been updated since July 13, 2012. As of this publication date (December 2012), all efforts – including a direct e-mail to TCJ Publisher Feuling requesting comment – to learn more about the future of The Chiropractic Journal and the World Chiropractic Alliance have proven unsuccessful.
