New York Chiropractic College has received approval from the New York State Education Department to offer an Advanced Certificate Program in Sports Science and Human Performance. The program is designed to provide the student with a solid foundation of exercise science and sports medicine principles that leads to unique hands on clinical workshop experiences at a variety of sporting events.
The program was created to prepare the NYCC graduate with the opportunity to serve the growing national interest in attaining and maintaining optimal physical fitness, from the professional athlete to the casual exerciser, according to Executive Vice President and Provost Dr. Michael Mestan. The Advanced Sports and Human Performance Certificate program may be completed while the student is matriculating in the Doctor of Chiropractic program at New York Chiropractic College.
The additional clinical competence and experiences by recipients of the Sports and Human Performance Certificate will provide them with the competitive edge to obtain affiliations with sports organizations, professional and semi-professional teams, and collegiate and high school athletic programs looking for a health care provider.
