ACA Announces Historic Clinical Symposium
The American Chiropractic Association has announced that as part of its annual House of Delegates meeting this September in Portland, Ore., the association is partnering with the Oregon Chiropractic Association and the University of Western States to present the Primary Care Clinical Symposium. According to the ACA, the symposium, which will be held following the HOD meeting, is the first event co-sponsored by a national association, a state association and a chiropractic college.
"This type of collaborative effort within the chiropractic profession is exactly what we need to reach our full potential," said ACA President Rick McMichael, DC. "This level of teamwork will create a unique meeting with important offerings to attendees from all facets of the profession."
Symposium attendees can earn up to eight continuing-education units for a variety of educational sessions; featured topics to be presented include the following: Functional Gastrointestinal Diagnosis and Treatment by Daniel Beeson, DC, DABCI; Head Injuries / Concussions by Guillermo Bermudez, DC, CCSP, and Ted Forcum, DC, CCSP, DACBSP; Otitis Media in the Chiropractic Patient by Elise Hewitt, DC, CST, DICCP, FICC; Emergency Management by Karen Konarski-Hart, DC, DABCO, DAAPM, FICC; Health Coaching and Wellness Promotion by Shelley Simon, BSN, DC, MPH, EdD; Common Issues in Women's Health by Frank Strehl, DC, DABCI; Conservative Care of Irritable Bowel Syndrome by Michael Taylor, DC, DABCI; and Hypertension by Alex Vasquez, DC, ND, DO.
