Because they have yet to pass national legislation protecting the chiropractic profession, Japanese DCs are in a similar situation that U.S. DCs faced. Breakthrough Coaching Honors Foundation Spokesperson Rebecca Halstead
Foundation for Chiropractic Progress spokesperson, Ret. General Rebecca (Becky) Halstead, received the Chiropractic Crusader Award on May 14 at a Breakthrough Coaching seminar in Chicago. The award, presented by Dr. Mark Sanna, recognizes outstanding individuals who have made significant contributions to the chiropractic profession.
The general was the first female graduate of West Point and the commander of 25,000 troops in Iraq. After chiropractic care relieved her of debilitating fibromyalgia, she became the spokesperson for the foundation and has contributed greatly to its mission to generate positive press for chiropractic.
Also receiving an award at the event was Dr. Mark Ford of Pampa, Texas. Dr. Ford was awarded the Outstanding Commitment Award recognizing his service to his patients, community and profession. He is celebrating his 29th year of chiropractic practice.
