As reported in our Jan. 1, 2011 issue, Dr. Kate Rufolo was elected president of the Congress of Chiropractic State Associations (COCSA) at the association's annual convention in Scottsdale, Ariz., in November. With our focus on Dr. Rufolo becoming the first female president of COCSA and only the second woman to head a national chiropractic association in the history of the profession, we left complete details of the association's annual event for this issue.

The 2010 conference, which featured educational presentations, legislative and political updates, and networking opportunities, included a day-one welcome dinner and speech by conference keynote speaker Richard Gephardt, former House Majority Leader and two-time presidential candidate. Attendees also heard updates from chiropractic organizations including the American Chiropractic Association, International Chiropractors Association, Council on Chiropractic Guidelines and Practice Parameters and the Chiropractic Summit, many of whom also held meetings during the conference.

Overall, 44 state chiropractic associations were represented by their respective executive directors in Scottsdale, along with volunteer leaders, key leaders from the profession and more than 30 corporate partners. For more information on the 2010 COCSA meeting/conference, visit www.cocsa.org.
