George A. Goodman, DC, FICC, president of Logan College of Chiropractic/University Programs, has announced several personnel appointments of doctors of chiropractic as clinicians at Logan's health centers. Instructor Jennifer C. Kane, DC, formerly a part-time clinician in the Logan Student Health Center, has been named a full-time clinician at Logan's St. Peter's Health Center. Aimee R. Jokerst, DC, FIAMA, has been appointed a full-time clinician at Logan's Southroads Health Center. And Patricia A. Estrada, DC, has joined the Logan staff as a full-time clinician at Logan's Yorkshire Health Center in Webster Groves.
Dr. Kane has served as a part-time clinician at the Student Health Center on Logan's campus in Chesterfield since 2004. In her new position as a health clinician, she will work at Logan's St. Peters Health Center, 263 Salt Lick Road at 79 Crossing. Dr. Kane has field experience as an owner, independent contractor, and associate at other chiropractic practices. She holds a bachelor's degree in human biology and earned her doctor of chiropractic degree at Logan in April 2001.
Dr. Jokerst brings 13 years of field experience to her new position as a health center clinician at Logan's Southroads Health Center, 12494 Tesson Ferry Road in south St. Louis County. After graduating from Logan in August 1997, Dr. Jokerst opened her own practice, Jokerst Chiropractic Health Center: A Creating Wellness Center, in Jefferson City, Mo., where she was the lead chiropractic physician, offering chiropractic and acupuncture services. She was named one of Jefferson City's top chiropractors and won an award from the Jefferson City Business Times. She was also nominated for Zonta's Woman of Achievement award.
Dr. Jokerst served as a faculty member at Metro Business College in Jefferson City as an instructor/adjunct faculty, where she prepared massage students for successful completion of their board examinations. She earned her bachelor's degree in human biology at Logan in 1995.
An August 1999 Logan graduate, Dr. Estrada originally began work at Logan in 1999 as a physiologic therapy assistant at the school's Montgomery Health Center. After graduating from Logan, Dr. Estrada moved to Costa Rica to work for Quiropractica Mundial as an associate for one of its four high-volume chiropractic clinics and participated in weekly local radio and television educational segments on chiropractic and health. Upon her return to St. Louis in 2001, she worked in different chiropractic settings before opening her own private chiropractic practice, Back to Health Chiropractic, in 2003. Her family practice focused in outreaching to the Hispanic community of St. Louis. In 2004, Dr. Estrada received the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce New Business of the Year Award.

When I graduated from chiropractic college in 1981 and started practice, I heard it all, and very little was positive. “You are a quack; you do not know what a subluxation is; you couldn’t get into a real health care program, so you chose the one that is slightly above a mail-order degree; you have no proof that chiropractic works; Are you really licensed?”, and so much more.

A central challenge in creating our identity is that chiropractic is a method of care, not a technique or procedure. This is an important concept for us to promote. Our patients are treated with lifestyle modification, exercise, nutritional supplements, diet and a whole-body approach to accelerate the natural healing process. We are not simply CMT providers.
The results of a global survey released late last year (2023) unveiled some startling findings among medical and nursing students. The “Clinician of the Future: 2023 Education Edition” surveyed 2,212 students, of which 446 were in the United States, from 91 countries.
