When sports chiropractors first appeared at the Olympic Games in the 1980s, it was alongside individual athletes who had experienced the benefits of chiropractic care in their training and recovery processes at home. Fast forward to Paris 2024, where chiropractic care was available in the polyclinic for all athletes, and the attitude has now evolved to recognize that “every athlete deserves access to sports chiropractic."

"We Offer Our Congratulations and Thanks"
Dear Editor:
On behalf of Northwestern Health Sciences University, I join your many readers in congratulating Mr. Charles DuBois on being named your 2009 Person of the Year. His selfless advocacy and support of the chiropractic profession are legend and I can think of no one more qualified to receive this honor.
Your article, however, failed to mention the outstanding and generous support that Northwestern has received from Mr. DuBois and Standard Process. His gift and support of $1 million to our university has provided us with the resources to develop a graduate degree program in clinical nutrition, establish a clinical nutrition chair, and the addition of an award-winning "Healing Garden" to complement our beautiful campus. Significantly, the Standard Process Healing Garden links our academic and research wings, offering a meaningful symbol of the generosity of Mr. DuBois in supporting chiropractic research and academic programs across the country.
Mr. DuBois' generous and kind support to chiropractic education and to the profession is unprecedented. He is most deserving of Dynamic Chiropractic's 2009 Person of the Year. We offer our congratulations and thanks.

Editor's note: Our article, "Setting the Standard for Chiropractic Advocacy," summarized some of the donations Standard Process and DuBois made to the profession in 2009. This list was not inclusive and reflected donations reported on in 2009 only.
Praising Dr. Moe and the ProAdjuster
Dear Editor:
My name is Dr. Yani Feliciano and I have practiced in Whittier, California for 22 years. I have known Dr. Maurice Pisciottano for many years, since he worked with Dr. David Singer. He has always treated me kindly and I became a ProAdjuster client approximately six years ago.
Dr. Moe and the Pro-Solutions team have been great to work with and I can say my practice has grown tremendously since joining them. I have four ProAdjusters and have purchased most of the other products he has available, which I believe to be the reason for my success. This company is extremely professional to deal with. Its people go above and beyond the call of duty to help all of us out and over-deliver every time.
I am so grateful to Dr. Moe and his team. They are always very accommodating to me and following up to make sure I am implementing everything I should be. The personal service is second to none and I feel I have received much more than what he promised. I have total access to them, as do all their clients. I don't know of many companies that give their cellular phone numbers to us for easy access and that is great for me, since I'm on the West Coast and call many times after hours.
I can say I have dealt with just about everyone from his operations and know them personally, as I have traveled to Pittsburgh dozens of times to receive the outstanding training they provide. I have been on many a conference call and if I miss one here and there, they post it on the Web site so I can listen in at my convenience. Other than their live events, my favorite training tool is their Web-based trainings, as I can learn while I'm exercising on my treadmill, protecting my time.
I cannot say enough about how Dr. Moe goes out of his way to make sure we are utilizing everything we can to make our life easier and help more people achieve wellness. He puts out so much training material in order to help us succeed; it can be overwhelming at times, however, they are there to do whatever it takes, help us at our own pace and assure us that systematically we can and will succeed. I cannot thank him enough for all the wonderful things he has provided for us to be successful.
I know I would not be the person I am today if it were not for him and his team. I love his style of teaching and I love the all the products, DVDs, CDs, books, magazines and manuals that help us be the best we can. It's an easy system to learn if you take it step by step. He takes all the time to research what works and what doesn't, and then teaches us, saving us many hours of time. All we have to do is implement the action steps and we're on our way to great success. I have been able to help so many people achieve their dreams and goals thanks to this great system, and that is the most important thing.
The last thing I have to say about Dr. Moe and the ProAdjuster technology is that if it were not for him and this wonderful instrument, I can guarantee without a shadow of a doubt that I would not be in practice today. I owe my career and wonderful lifestyle to Dr. Moe and the ProAdjuster.

Curing Addiction With a Holistic Approach
Dear Editor:
Recent studies have demonstrated that all addictions, whether to alcohol, tobacco, drugs or anorexia, are caused by low activity of dopamine, a brain neurotransmitter. After that finding came out, research groups soon reported that strenuous exercise raises brain dopamine best with 20 minutes of intense weight-lifting or 45 minutes of brisk running or bicycling, three times a week. Chiropractic, acupuncture, and massage, 2-3 times weekly, also raise dopamine well.
Pharmaceutical companies are feverishly looking for a drug that will work as well as weights and running. However, with abundant running clubs, coaches, personal trainers, health clubs, climbing gyms, bicycle/pedestrian trails, massage therapists, acupuncturists and chiropractors, we don't have to wait years to start treating and curing addiction. Trail running, for instance, is liberally sprinkled with former alcoholics, smokers and druggies, who now have no desire to indulge.
But exercise doesn't work for anorexia. I have three gaunt runner/bicyclist patients who regularly suffer from breakdown injuries because their bodies are so desperate for calories that they're breaking down the protein fibers in tendons, ligaments and bones to get enough calories to fuel their workouts. But when I point that out, they say I'm wrong, that they're borderline fat. And none of them will get their body-fat percentage tested because it will prove they're underweight. So I step back, try to get them to see massage therapists and acupuncturists, and come to me more often.
Addiction is now curable. Vigorous exercise, acupuncture, chiropractic and massage are all effective, especially in concert.
