Some doctors thrive in a personality-based clinic and have a loyal following no matter what services or equipment they offer, but for most chiropractic offices who are trying to grow and expand, new equipment purchases help us stay relevant and continue to service our client base in the best, most up-to-date manner possible. So, regarding equipment purchasing: should you lease, get a bank loan, or pay cash?
National Celebrates First Graduates of Master of Science Degree Program
National University of Health Sciences proudly conferred diplomas on the first 14 graduates of its Master of Science in Advanced Clinical Practice (MSACP) degree program during commencement ceremonies on Aug. 20. The new degree program, which opened its doors two years ago, gives doctors of chiropractic medicine an even broader immersion in advanced clinical study, with work in pharmacology, neurology, clinical nutrition, advanced diagnostic imaging and research.
The degree is designed around the physician's concurrent clinical practice. In this way, the physician can integrate their new depth of medical knowledge directly into patient care.
"The master of science degree in advanced clinical practice is designed to produce top caliber physicians with advanced academic and clinical credentials," explained NUHS President James F. Winterstein, DC. "These are individuals who will be well-prepared as academic leaders in the chiropractic profession, as well as physicians who can bring an unparalleled depth of knowledge to the 'whole health healing' art of chiropractic medicine."
The first class of MSACP graduates from National, including several alumni and faculty, are Drs. Kelly M. Baltazar, Creighton V. Engel, James R. Jenkins, Theodore Lawrence Johnson Jr., Heather E. Jones, Michael Krys, Nicholas LeRoy, Gregory R. Lillie, David C. Radford, Hector Rivera-Melo, Kristina Lynn Sargent, Jonathan R. Soltys, Tamara Ann Sukup, and Adam E. Tilson.
The two-year, 36-credit-hour program incorporates weekend and distance learning, as well as a faculty comprised of academic luminaries in the field of integrative medicine, including David Seaman, DC; Rand Swenson, DC, MD, PhD; Jerrilyn Cambron, DC, MPH, PhD; Eric Deppert, MD, FACP; Dennis Skogsbergh, DC, DACBR; David Miller, MD, FAAP; Alex Vasquez, DC, ND; and David Gursky, PhD.
