Editorial Staff

The Association for the History of Chiropractic (AHC) will hold its 25th annual Conference on Chiropractic History June 11-12, 2005, on the campus of the Southern California University of Health Sciences (SCUHS) in Whittier, Calif. This is the association's silver anniversary, and a very festive meeting and history paper session are anticipated.

The deadline for those wishing to submit papers for presentation at the conference is Jan. 1, 2005. All submissions should be addressed to AHC executive director Alana Callender at the address below. A cash prize of $500 is available and will be awarded by the AHC for the best paper presented at the conference by a non-student. Another $500 cash prize made available by the National Institute of Chiropractic Research will be awarded by the AHC for the best paper presented by a student at the conference. Information concerning manuscript style and submission requirements can be found in the most recent issue of Chiropractic History, the AHC's scholarly journal. Authors of papers accepted for presentation at the conference are not required to submit their papers to the editor of Chiropractic History for consideration to publish, although this is encouraged.

About the Association for the History of Chiropractic

The AHC is a nonprofit membership society founded at Spears Hospital in Denver in 1980. Its mission is the discovery, dissemination and preservation of the saga of chiropractic. The AHC held the first Conference on Chiropractic History at the Smithsonian Institute in Washington, D.C. in 1981, and has held similar conferences each year since at various chiropractic colleges or in conjunction with the annual meeting of the Association of Chiropractic Colleges. Details about the upcoming conference can be obtained from Ms. Callender, or by checking the AHC Web site at www.chirohistory.org.

Chiropractic History is a publication in which chiropractors and interested observers contribute their expertise to telling and interpreting the rich lore of the profession. The journal is published twice per year, and is distributed to all members of the AHC as a membership benefit. Membership in the AHC can be obtained by sending your name, address and a check for $75 ($30 per year for students) to Alana Callender. Corporate memberships are also available.
