Because they have yet to pass national legislation protecting the chiropractic profession, Japanese DCs are in a similar situation that U.S. DCs faced. We were fortunate enough to be able to pass chiropractic licensure state by state. The DCs in Japan must accomplish this nationally, which has proved to be an extremely difficult task. And in spite of their efforts, Japanese DCs are currently faced with two chiropractic professions.
Chiropractic Goes to Morocco
After examination and x-rays of the Royal Family of Morocco, the first chiropractic adjustment was delivered in that kingdom. Morocco, which is located on the northwestern border of North Africa (and was also the home of Casablanca) had formerly been void of the chiropractic profession. Sidi M. Lemnouni, B.S.; D.C., of Atlanta, Georgia, was called upon by the Royal Family to make the examination.
"It was a privilege to deliver this first chiropractic adjustment to the royal family. This is the first step to the opening of Morocco to chiropractic," said Dr. Lemnouni.
Dr. Lemnouni added that he hopes to seek audiences with the governor in order to create a mutual cooperation and understanding of the profession in that country. It is anticipated that neighboring kingdoms will follow Morocco's lead and invite more chiropractors to introduce their field to the people of North Africa.
