In a landmark development, Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) has reached a $2.8 billion settlement to resolve antitrust claims brought by health care providers, including chiropractors. The lawsuit accused BCBS of dividing the nation into exclusive regions and limiting competition, which resulted in lower reimbursements for providers. Although BCBS denies any wrongdoing, the company agreed to the settlement to avoid lengthy litigation – and you can get a piece of the pie.
The Practice Management Controversy
A spokesperson for the Orange Country Chiropractic Society in Southern California, confirmed that Dr. Peter G. Fernandez, president of PMA, and attorney, Michael J. Schroeder have agreed to attend their June 12, meeting in Santa Ana, California to discuss the practice management issues.
Master of Ceremonies, Brian Porteous, D.C. announced that both Dr. Fernandez and attorney, Schroeder will present their views on the topic, "A Standard on Practice Management."
