King Koil Sleep Products of St. Paul, Minnesota has donated an additional $15,00 to scholarship monies for 1991 to the ICA, bringing King Koil's total donations to over $100,00.
King Koil President, Ernest Friedman said his long working relationship with the ICA has given him an appreciation of chiropractic's "unique role as a major health care provider." He added, "We strongly believe in the future of chiropractic and can best support that belief through the student scholarship fund."
King Koil manufactures mattresses which are endorsed by the ICA.
ICA Contributions to CCE Pass $1,000,000
With the ICA's May 1991 contribution to the Council on Chiropractic Education (CCE), the ICA's donations to the CCE have surpassed the million dollar mark.
For more than ten years the ICA has been a dependable contributor to the CCE. As a sponsoring organization, the ICA makes an annual donation to the CCE based on the ICA's membership dues.
ICA President, Dr. James Gregg of Michigan said, "We view ICA's financial commitment to CCE as an important moral obligation; one which we at ICA take very seriously."
The CCE accredits 14 chiropractic colleges in the United States, including the six colleges affiliated with the ICA. These six colleges (Palmer College, Davenport, Iowa; Life College, Marietta, Georgia; Cleveland College, Kansas City, Missouri; Life College (West), San Lorenzo, California; Palmer (West), Sunnyvale, California; and Cleveland College, Los Angeles, California), support the CCE through contributions based on student enrollment. The six ICA colleges represent nearly 50 percent of all chiropractic college enrollment in the United States, or 4,936 out of a total of 9,963 students, according to 1991 figures.
The CCE is headquartered in Des Moines, Iowa and is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and the Council on Post Secondary Accreditation.
